Most changes are benign, but to be sure, please have unusual or spontaneous changes checked by a physician without delay.

  • Lump or thickening (breast, underarm)
  • Red or hot skin
  • Orange peel skin
  • Dimpling or puckering
  • Unusual pain
  • Itch or rash, especially in nipple area
  • Retracted nipple
  • Change in direction of nipple axis
  • Bloody or spontaneous discharge from nipple
  • A sore on the breast that does not heal
